Calibra offer a wide range of services
The misconception of what pruning work should be carried out to a tree to make it safe has changed as we understand the science of trees. Although you may feel your tree needs to be reduced, we will offer a suggestion of what the tree may tolerate. A heavy reduction may result in vigorous regrowth, cause long term safety issues or even the eventual decline of the tree.
Calibra specialise in the attentive removal of trees in dangerous and restricted areas by using sectional felling and modern techniques. We use Cranes & MWEPS (Mobile Elevating Work Platforms) where necessary.
Crown reduction & lifting is used to reduce the height and/or spread of the crown of a tree allowing more light to pass through and to reduce wind resistance and weight of heavy branches. It may also be used to improve access beneath. Common practice is 2.5m for pedestrians and 5m for highways, whilst maintaining the tree's natural shape as far as possible and avoiding large wounds and decay ingress.
Removal of dead, diseased, broken, crossing/rubbing branches including Ivy & climbers. Thinning is measured by a percentage.
Regular Fruit tree maintenance is usually required to encourage a healthy fruit crop & to prevent fruit being too far out of reach.
Regular maintenance on any large or small hedges. Tired & old un-maintained hedges sometimes need a more severe approach.
Adding Woodchip/Mulch below the canopy around the base of the tree. This is important for trees that suffer from soil compaction/erosion. The term Amelioration means maintain & improving the quality of the soil for the health of the tree.
Large or small if the stump cannot be left as a habitat it can be ground out using our Grinders. Our smallest grinder will go through a front door if access is a problem.
Here at Calibra we value our customers and always aim to provide a great service and we love hearing back from our customers after a job's complete.
